Thanks to ESPN, CBS, Fox, and even Twitter, saturation coverage of sports topics have become unavoidable. But who bugs the hell out of you? Who are you really tired of hearing about? Right now I'm going to run down my top five most overanalyzed sports figures and why I feel that way:
TO- Quite possibly the most overexposed player in football. Being in Buffalo will cause his exposure to take a hit. However, his show will pick up the slack and, if his team falters, which is likely in a tough AFC East, it will be blamed on him. Skip Bayless will continue to have something to talk about. Not sure what he's going to do when TO retires.
Brett Favre- The person who is tied for most overexposed football player ever. He's so overexposed that even the guys at ESPN seem to be sick of him. However, they still played the montage of his greatest plays on Sports Center a couple of nights ago. The same one they played at the end of the last three NFL seasons. Who knows, maybe we will finally get a break.
Tim Tebow- For the record, I am a huge Tim Tebow fan. Not just because of the type of person that he is, on and off the field, but because I grew up as a big Florida fan. While my admiration has waned since leaving Fla. six years ago, I still enjoy their success. With that said, enough already. The problem with college football (and sometimes college basketball) is that they hype atheltes to be larger than life for financial gain. They pick a story and shove it down your throat. While I'm not a Steve Spurrier fan, he had every right to have his Director of Football operations not vote for Tim Tebow as a unanamous preseason All- SEC selection. Still free country right?
Shaq- It's never good when a player ends up on Monday Night Raw. It dosen't help your career. It's not endearing. Shaq has seemingly been popping up everwhere lately. Doing dumb things. Body slamming someone at Raw, showing up at the White House, freestyle rapping, enough already.
